لا إلهَ إلاّ الله إلهاً وَاحِداً وَنَحنُ لَهُ مُسلِمونَ،
There is no god save Allah; One and Only God; and we are submissive to Him.
لا إلهَ إلاّ الله وَلا نَعبُدُ إلاّ إياهُ مُخلِصينَ لَهُ الدّينَ وَلَو كَرِهَ المُشرِكونَ،
There is no god save Allah and we worship none save Him, making our devotion sincere as in His sight, even though the polytheists may detest it.
لا إلهَ إلاّ الله ربُّنا وَرَبُّ آبائِنا الأوّلينَ،
There is no god save Allah; (He is) Our Lord and the Lord of our fathers of old.
لا إلهَ إلاّ اللهُ وَحدَهُ وَحدَهُ وَحدَهُ أنجَزَ وَعدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبدَه وأعَزَّ جُندَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأحزابَ وَحدَهُ،
There is no god save Allah; Alone, alone, alone. He has truly fulfilled His promise, granted His servant victory, made powerful His soldiers, and defeated the parties alone.
فَلَهُ المُلكُ وَلَهُ الحَمدُ يُحيي وَيُميتُ وَيُميتُ وَيُحيي وَهُوَ حَيُّ لا يَموتُ،
So, sovereignty be His and praise be His. He grants life and causes (others) to die, and (then) causes to die and raises from the dead; while He is eternally ever-living and He never dies.
بيَدِهِ الخَيرُ وَهُوَ عَلى كُلِّ شيءٍ قَديرٌ.
All goodness is at His Hand, and He has power over all things.
أستَغفِرُ اللهَ الَّذي لا إلهَ إلاّ هُوَ الحَيُّ القَيّومُ،
I pray the forgiveness of Allah; there is no god save Him, the Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting,
وَأتوبُ إلَيهِ.
اللهُمَّ اهدِني مِن عِندِكَ وَأفِض عَلَيَّ مِن فَضلِكَ،
O Allah, (please do) guide me to the true guidance of Yours, pour upon me from Your grace,
وَانشُر عَلَيَّ مِن رَحمَتِكَ،
spread over me from Your mercy,
وَأنزِل عَلَيَّ مِن بَرَكاتِكَ،
and bring down upon me from Your blessings.
سُبحانَكَ لا إلهَ إلاّ أنتَ اغفِر لي ذُنوبي كُلَّها جَميعاً،
Glory be to You; there is no god save You. (Please) forgive my sins—all of them entirely,
فَإنَّهُ لا يَغفِرُ الذُّنوبَ كُلَّها جَميعاً إلاّ أنتَ.
because none can forgive all sins entirely save You.
اللهُمَّ إنّي أسألُكَ مِن كُلِّ خَيرٍ أحاطَ بِهِ عِلمُكَ،
O Allah, I beseech You to grant me part of all good things that are encompassed by Your knowledge
وَأعوذُ بِكَ مِن كُلِّ شَرٍّ أحاطَ بِهِ عِلمُكَ،
and I seek Your protection against all evils that are encompassed by Your knowledge.
اللهُمَّ إنّي أسألُكَ عافِيَتَكَ في أُموري كُلِّها،
O Allah, I beseech You to grant me wellbeing from You in all of my affairs
وَأعوذُ بِكَ مِن خِزي الدُّنيا وَعَذابِ الآخرَةِ،
and I seek Your protection against the disgrace of this world and the chastisement in the Next World.
وَأعوذُ بِوَجهكَ الكَريم وَعِزَّتِكَ الَّتي لا تُرامُ وَقُدرَتِك الَّتي لا يَمتَنِعُ مِنها شيءٌ مِن شَرِّ الدُّنيا وَالآخرَةِ،
I also seek protection of Your Noble Face, Your invulnerable omnipotence, and Your power that none can deter against the evils of this world and the Next World,
وَمِن شَرِّ الأوجاعِ كُلِّها،
the evils of all pains,
وَمِن شَرِّ كُلِّ دابَّةٍ أنتَ آخِذٌ بِناصيتها،
and the evil of all moving creatures that You grasp from forelocks.
إنَّ رَبّي عَلى صِراطٍ مُستَقيمٍ،
Verily, my Lord is on a Straight Path.
وَلا حَولَ وَلا قوَّةَ إلاّ بِالله العَليِّ العَظيمِ.
There is neither strength nor power save with Allah, the All-high and All-great.
تَوَكَّلتُ عَلى الحَيِّ الَّذي لا يَموتُ،
I put my trust in the Ever-living (Lord) Who never dies.
وَالحَمدُ للهِ الَّذي لَم يَتَّخِذ وَلَداً وَلَم يَكُن لَهُ شَريكٌ في المُلكِ وَلَم يَكُن لَهُ وَليُّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ وَكَبِّرهُ تَكبيراً.
All praise be to Allah Who has not taken to Himself a son, nor has He had any partner in sovereignty, nor does He need any to protect Him from humiliation. And magnify Him with all magnificence.
أشهَدُ أن لا إلهَ إلاّ الله وَحدَهُ لا شَريكَ لَهُ إلهاً واحِداً أحَداً فَرداً صَمَداً لَم يَتَّخِذ صاحِبَةً وَلا وَلَداً.
I bear witness that there is no god save Allah; (He is) One and Only; and there is no partner with Him; a Single God; One, Unique, and eternally Besought of all. He has taken to Himself neither a wife nor a son.
سُبحانَ اللهِ كُلَّما سَبَّحَ اللهَ شيءٌ،
All Glory be to Allah whenever Allah is glorified by things,
وَكَما يُحِبُّ اللهُ أن يُسَبَّحَ،
as exactly as Allah likes to be glorified,
وَكَما هُوَ أهلُهُ،
as exactly as He is worthy of glorification,
وَكَما يَنبَغي لِكَرَمِ وَجهِهِ وَعِزِّ جَلالِهِ،
and as it is suitable for the nobility of His Face and the might of His Majesty.
والحَمدُ للهِ كُلَّما حَمِدَ اللهَ شيءٌ،
All praise be to Allah whenever Allah is praised by things,
وَكَما يُحِبُّ اللهُ أن يُحمَدَ،
as exactly as Allah likes to be praised,
وَكَما هُوَ أهلُهُ،
as exactly as He is worthy of glorification,
وَكَما يَنبَغي لِكَرَمِ وَجهِهِ وَعِزِّ جَلالِهِ،
and as it is suitable for the nobility of His Face and the might of His Majesty.
وَلا إلهَ إلاّ الله كُلَّما هَلَّلَ اللهَ شيءٌ،
There is no god save Allah whenever Allah’s Oneness in Godhead is professed,
وَكَما يُحِبُّ اللهَ أن يُهَلَّلَ،
as exactly as Allah likes His Oneness in Godhead to be professed,
وَكَما هُوَ أهلُهُ،
as exactly as He is worthy of glorification,
وَكَما يَنبَغي لِكَرَمِ وَجهِهِ وَعِزِّ جَلالِهِ،
and as it is suitable for the nobility of His Face and the might of His Majesty.
وَاللهُ أكبَرُ كُلَّما كَبَّرَ اللهَ شيءٌ،
Allah is the Greatest whenever Allah’s Most Greatness is professed,
وَكَما يُحِبُّ اللهُ أن يُكَبَّرَ،
as exactly as Allah likes His Most Greatness to be professed,
وَكَما هُوَ أهلُهُ،
as exactly as He is worthy of glorification,
وَكَما يَنبَغي لِكَرَمِ وَجهِهِ وَعِزِّ جَلالِهِ.
and as it is suitable for the nobility of His Face and the might of His Majesty.
سُبحانَ اللهِ وَالحَمدُ للهِ وَلا إلهَ إلاّ الله وَالله أكبرُ،
All glory be to Allah; all praise be to Allah; there is no god save Allah; and Allah is the Greatest
عَلى كُلِّ نِعمَةٍ أنعَمَ بِها عَلَيَّ وَعَلى كُلِّ أحَدٍ مِن خَلقِهِ مِمَّن كانَ أو يَكونُ إلى يَومِ القيامة.
for all bounties that He has bestowed upon me and upon each and every being of His creatures, including those who passed away and those who will exist up to the Resurrection Day.
اللهُمَّ إنّي أسألُكَ أن تُصَلّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَأسألُكَ مِن خَيرِ ما أرجو وَخَيرِ ما لا أرجو،
and I beseech You to grant me the best of what I hope and the best of what I have not included with my hopes.
وَأعوذُ بِكَ مِن شَرِّ ما أحذَرُ وَمِن شَرِّ ما لا أحذَرُ.
I also beseech You to protect me against the evil of what I anticipate and the evils of what I do not anticipate.
سُبحانَ رَبِّك رَبِّ العِزَّةِ عَمّا يَصِفونَ،
Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe.
وَسَلامٌ عَلى المُرسَلينَ،
Peace be on the messengers.
وَالحَمدُ للهِ رَبِّ العالَمينَ.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآل مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, (Please) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاجعَل لي مِن أمري فَرَجاً وَمَخرَجاً،
cause all my affairs to arrive at a relief, prepare for me a way out,
وَارزُقني مِن حَيثُ أحتَسِبُ وَمِن حَيثُ لا أحتَسِبُ.
and give me sustenance from whence I think and from whence I do not think.
يا رَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَجِّل فَرَجَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ.
O Lord of Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad: (Please) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and hasten the Relief of the Household of Muhammad.
يا ذا الجَلالِ وَالإكرامِ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Lord of Majesty and Honor, (Please) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَارحمني وَأجِرني مِنَ النَّارِ.
have mercy upon me, and deliver me from Hellfire.
اللهُمَّ إنّي أسألُكَ باسمِكَ المَكنونِ المَخزونِ الطَّاهِرِ الطُّهرِ المُبارَكِ،
O Allah, I beseech You in Your Name: the well-guarded, stored, pure, immaculate, and blessed.
وَأسألُكَ بِاسمِكَ العَظيمِ وَسُلطانِكَ القَديمِ،
And I beseech You in Your Great Name and Your eternal power.
يا واهِبَ العَطايا وَيا مُطلِقَ الاُسارى،
O Donor of gifts! O Releaser of captives!
وَيا فَكَّاكَ الرِّقابِ مِنَ النَّارِ،
O Deliverer of necks from the Fire!
أسألُكَ أن تُصَلّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَأن تُعتِقَ رَقَبَتي مِنَ النَّار،
to deliver me from the Fire,
وَأن تُخرِجَني مِنَ الدُّنيا سالِماً وَتُدخِلَني الجَنَّةَ آمِناً،
to cause me leave this world free (from liabilities), to allow me to Paradise with security,
وَأن تَجعَلَ دُعائي أوَّلَهُ فَلاحاً وَأوسَطَهُ نَجاحاً وَآخِرَهُ صَلاحاً.
and to make the beginning of my prayer successful, the middle of it a gain, and the end of it a prosperity.
إنَّكَ أنتَ عَلاّمُ الغُيوبِ.
Verily, You are the Knower of all unseen things.
يا مَن لا يَشغَلُهُ سَمعٌ عَن سَمعٍ،
O He Who is not distracted by a sound from hearing another sound!
وَيا مَن لا يُغَلِّطُهُ السَّائِلونَ،
O He Who is not confused by the beseechers!
وَيا مَن لا يُبرِمُهُ إلحاحُ المُلِحّينَ،
O He Who is not annoyed by the insistence of those who entreat Him persistently!
أذِقني بَردَ عَفوِكَ وَحَلاوَةَ رَحمَتِكَ وَمَغفِرتِكَ.
(Please do) Make me taste the nice flavor of Your pardon and the sweetness of Your mercy and forgiveness.
إلهي هذِهِ صَلاتي صَلَّيتُها لا لِحاجَةٍ مِنكَ إلَيها،
O Allah, This is my prayer that I have just offered on account of neither a need that You may have for it
وَلا رَغبةٍ مِنكَ فيها،
nor a desire that You may have for it;
إلاّ تَعظيماً وَطاعَةً وَإجابَةً لَكَ إلى ما أمَرتَني بِهِ.
rather, it is only glorification of You, obedience to You, and response to You to carry out what You have ordered me to do.
إلهي إن كانَ فيها خَلَلٌ أو نَقصٌ مِن رُكوعِها أو سُجودِها فَلا تُؤاخِذني وَتَفَضَّل عَلَيَّ بِالقَبولِ وَالغُفرانِ.
O my God: If there is a defect or a deficiency in my prayer, whether in the genuflection or the prostration; then, (please) do not reproach me for it; rather, confer upon me with Your acceptance (of it) and forgiveness (of me).
سُبحانَ مَن لا يَعتَدي عَلى أهلِ مَملَكَتِهِ،
Glory be to Him Who does not treat the people of His realm with transgression!
سُبحانَ مَن لا يأخُذُ أهلَ الأرضِ بِألوانِ العَذابِ،
Glory be to Him Who does not inflict on the inhabitants of the earth various sorts of torture!
سُبحانَ الرَّؤوفِ الرَّحيمِ.
Glory be to the Affectionate, the Merciful!
اللَّهُمَّ اجعَل لي في قَلبي نوراً وَبَصَراً وَفَهما وَعِلماً.
O Allah, (please) fill my heart with illumination, discernment, (faculty of) understanding, and knowledge.
إنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شيءٍ قَديرٌ.
Verily, You have power over all things.
أُعيذُ نَفسي وَديني وَأهلي وَمَالي وَوُلْدي وَإخواني في ديني وَما رَزَقَني رَبّي وَخَواتيمَ عَمَلي وَمَن يَعنيني أمرُهُ بِاللهِ الواحِدِ الأحَدِ الصَّمَدِ،
I seek for myself, my religion, my family members, my possessions, my descendants, my brethren-in-faith, all sustenance that my Lord has provided to me as sustenance, the results of my deeds, and whomever I may concern about, (I seek for all these) the protection of Allah, the Single, the One, and the eternally Besought of all
الَّذي لَم يَلِد وَلَم يولَد،
Who begets not, nor is He begotten;
وَلَم يَكُن لَهُ كُفواً أحدٌ،
and the like of Whom there is none.
وَبِرَبِّ الفَلَقِ،
And [I seek the protection of] the Lord of the dawn
مِن شَرِّ ما خَلَقَ،
from the evil of what He has created,
وَمِن شَرِّ غاسِقٍ إذا وَقَبَ،
the evil of the utterly dark night when it comes,
وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفّاثاتِ في العُقَدِ،
the evil of those who blow on knots,
وَمِن شَرِّ حاسِدٍ إذا حَسَدَ،
and the evil of the envious when he envies.
وَبِرَبِّ النَّاسِ،
And [I seek the protection of] the Lord of men,
مَلِكِ النَّاسِ إلهِ النَّاسِ،
the King of men, the God of men,
مِن شَرِّ الوَسواسِ الخَنَّاسِ الَّذي يُوَسوِسُ في صُدورِ النَّاسِ،
from the evil of the whisperings of the slinking (Satan), who whispers into the hearts of men
مِنَ الجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ.
from among the jinn and the men.
اللهُمَّ إنَّ مَغفِرَتَك أرجى مِن عَمَلي،
O Allah, Truly, I hope for Your forgiveness more than I trust my deed.
وَإنَّ رَحمَتَكَ أوسَعُ مِن ذَنبي.
Your mercy is verily more expansive than my sin.
اللهُمَّ إن كانَ ذَنبي عِندَكَ عَظيماً فَعَفوُكَ أعظَمُ مِن ذَنبي.
O Allah, If my sin is grave in Your view, then Your pardon is greater than my sin.
اللهُمَّ إن لَم أكُن أهلاً أن أبلُغَ رَحمَتَكَ فَرَحمَتُكَ أهلٌ أن تَبلُغَني وَتَسَعَني؛
O Allah, If I do not deserve to attain Your mercy, then Your mercy is so liberal that it can reach and include me,
لأنَّها وَسِعَت كُلَّ شيءٍ،
because it has included all things;
بِرَحمَتِكَ يا أرحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ.
[Let it be] by Your mercy; O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
اللهُمَّ أنتَ السَّلامُ وَمِنكَ السَّلامُ وَلَكَ السَّلامُ وَإلَيكَ يَعودُ السَّلامُ.
O Allah, You are the [source of] peace, peace is coming from You, peace is for You, and to You does peace belong.
سُبحانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ العِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفونَ،
Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe.
وَسَلامٌ عَلى المُرسَلينَ،
Peace be on the messengers.
والحَمدُ للهِ رَبِّ العالَمينَ.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
السَّلامُ عَلَيكَ أيُّها النَّبيُّ وَرَحمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ،
Peace be upon you, O Prophet. Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.
السَّلامُ عَلَى الأئِمَّةِ الهادينَ المَهديّينَ،
Peace be upon the Imams; the guides and well-guided.
السَّلامُ عَلى جَميعِ أنبياءِ اللهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَمَلائِكَتِهِ،
Peace be upon all Prophets, Messengers, and angels of Allah.
السَّلامُ عَلَينا وَعَلى عِبادِ اللهِ الصَّالِحينَ،
Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah.
السَّلامُ عَلَى عَليٍّ أميرِ المُؤمِنينَ،
Peace be upon `Ali, the Commander of the Believers.
السَّلامُ عَلى الحَسَنِ وَالحُسَينِ سَيِّدَي شَبابِ أهلِ الجَنَّةِ أجمَعينَ،
Peace be upon al-Hasan and al-Husayn, the two chiefs of all the youth of Paradise.
السَّلامُ عَلَى عَليِّ بنِ الحُسَينِ زَينِ العابِدينَ،
Peace be upon `Ali the son of al-Husayn, the Adornment of the Worshippers.
السَّلامُ عَلى مُحَمَّدِ بنِ عَليٍّ باقِرِ عِلمِ النَّبيّينَ،
Peace be upon Muhammad the son of `Ali, the splitter of the knowledge of the Prophets.
السَّلامُ عَلَى جَعفَرِ بنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّادِقِ،
Peace be upon Ja`far the son of Muhammad, the veracious.
السَّلامُ عَلى موسى بنِ جَعفَرٍ الكاظِمِ،
Peace be upon Musa the son of Ja`far, the suppressor of rage.
السَّلامُ عَلَى عَليِّ بنِ موسى الرِّضا،
Peace be upon `Ali the son of Musa, the amiable.
السَّلامُ عَلى مُحَمَّدِ بنِ عَليٍّ الجَوادِ،
Peace be upon Muhammad the son of `Ali, the magnanimous.
السَّلامُ عَلى عَليِّ بنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الهادي،
Peace be upon `Ali the son of Muhammad, the guide.
السَّلامُ عَلى الحَسَنِ بنِ عَليٍّ الزَّكيِّ العَسكَريِّ،
Peace be upon al-Hasan the son of `Ali, the bright and resident of `Askar.
السَّلامُ عَلَى الحُجَّةِ بنِ الحَسَنِ القائِمِ المَهديّ،
Peace be upon the Argument (of Allah), the son of al-Hasan, the Assumer and the well-guided.
(صَلَواتُ الله عَلَيهِم أجمَعينَ) .
Blessings of Allah be upon them all.
وقال الكفعمي تقول بعد الصلوات: رَضيتُ بِاللهِ رَبّاً،
وَبِالإسلامِ ديناً،
to Islam being my religion,
وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ (صلى الله عليه وآله) نبياً،
to Muhammad—peace be upon him and his Household—being the Prophet,
وَبِعَلِيٍّ إماماً،
to `Ali being my leader,
وَبِالحَسَنِ وَالحُسَينِ وَعَليٍّ وَمُحَمَّدٍ وَجَعفَرٍ وَموسى وَعَليٍّ وَمُحَمَّدٍ وَعَليٍّ وَالحَسَنِ وَالخَلَفِ الصَّالِحِ (عليهم السلام) أئِمَّةً وَسادَةً وَقادَةً.
to al-Hasan, al-Husayn, `Ali, Muhammad, Ja`far, Musa, `Ali, Muhammad, `Ali, al-Hasan, and the Righteous Successor—peace be upon them all— being my Imams, masters, and leaders.
بِهِم أتَوَلّى وَمِن أعدائِهِم أتَبَرَأ.
Only them should I follow and their enemies will I disavow.
اللهُمَّ إنّي أسألُكَ العَفوَ وَالعافيَةَ وَالمُعافاةَ في الدُّنيا وَالآخرَةِ.
O Allah, I ask You for amnesty, good health, and wellbeing in this world as well as the Next World.
